Work is progressing well on the restoration of the historic state rooms at the German Embassy on Belgrave Square, London. Working closely with Historic England, substantial construction measures are being carried out to restore the impressive Grade I listed interior to its former grandeur. Alongside this, building services and technology will be updated, to make the building fit for the requirements of the 21st century.

After the refurbishment, the building will be home to the ambassador, and venue for international receptions and events. Following on from the recent façade restoration of the German Embassy Residence, ÜberRaum Architects were appointed as Lead Designers, Project Managers and Contract Administrators on this high-end refurbishment.

The elegant and timeless shop interior is clad in dark timber, featuring impressive brass details and a large chandelier by Spanish design company Delightfull. Working closely with the owner of the building, Lord Sugar’s real estate company Amsprop, we delivered the project to an extremely high standard that pays tribute to its prestigious address.

Romanian Cultural Institute Opening Night

2019-11-10T20:20:39+00:00

ÜberRaum Architects have recently restored the facade of The Romanian Cultural Institute in London. The completion of the work was celebrated with an impressive multi-media art performance where a film was projected onto the façade of the 160-year old building at 1 Belgrave Square. Created by Bucharest-based visual artist Ion Cotenescu (VJ Cote), the performance paid homage to the history of the building and the characters who have lived there over the years.
